What Is a Custom Ketubah?
Every ketubah we print is a custom one. Your names and Hebrew names, your wedding date, the venue and your witnesses are set into the text itself before anything goes to press — not written in afterwards. Beyond that, the wording can be adapted, replaced, or written entirely by you.
Personalized Text or Custom Text?
These are two different things, and knowing which you want makes everything else simpler.
Personalized text is free with every ketubah. You choose one of our texts — traditional Aramaic, Conservative, Reform, egalitarian, Sephardic, interfaith, secular humanist, LGBTQ+ or nonbinary — and after checkout we email you for your details. We then set your names, your wedding date and the place of the wedding into the text itself, so it reads as one piece rather than a form with blanks filled in.
Custom text is when you bring your own. You or your officiant supply the entire wording, in both Hebrew and English, and we adapt it into the artwork you have chosen — setting it, spacing it and laying it out so it sits properly inside the design.
Signature lines are left blank in both cases. They are signed at the ketubah ceremony on the day of the wedding.
Writing Your Own Ketubah Text
If none of the standard wordings say what you want to say, send us yours. We will typeset it in Hebrew, English or both, lay it out inside the design you have chosen, and our Rabbis will review it if you would like them to. Couples use this to blend two traditions, to add a third language, or simply to say something in their own voice.
Hebrew Names and Personal Details
The details are where most of the care goes. If you know your Hebrew name but are unsure how it is spelled, tell us the English and our team will confirm it. If you do not have one, we can help you render your English name in Hebrew. Parents' names, a parent who has passed away, three witnesses instead of two — tell us and we will set it correctly.
Bringing Your Own Artist
If someone close to you is making the artwork, our Circular Ketubah Text prints your chosen wording in a circular layout and leaves the space around it open for them to work into. You get a properly typeset, Rabbi-reviewed text; they get a blank canvas.
How the Proof Works
Once we have your details we email a digital proof showing exactly what will print. Read it carefully, send it to your officiant, and tell us about anything that needs changing — a spelling, a date, a word. We will send a fresh proof. Nothing goes to press until you say so.

Yes. Interfaith couples have ketubahs, and so do secular and humanist couples. We offer interfaith wording written to honour both partners equally, and secular humanist wording with no religious framing at all, in Hebrew and English.
